Short Description
The default text in an edit box remains when user types in new information
Long Description
- If the default information in an edit box is selected when the user enters the edit box, the new entry will replace the old information.
- If the default entry remains in the edit box, the combination of the new and default entry will probably make the new entry incorrect.
- A blind user will not notice that the old information remained in the edit box until they review the entry.
- Having the default entry automatically go away saves the user a couple of steps as they try to make a correct entry.

Recommendations

- The most basic way to help people make a correct entry is probably to have the default text selected so new text will replace the old.
