Page Title Does Not Provide Information about Page Content

Short Description

The page lacks a title element

Long Description

  • When a screen reader user is switching between open windows on the desktop, a page title makes it quick and easy to identify which one has focus.
  • Visual effects such as larger or bold font might help make it clear to a sighted person what page they are on. To a person using a screen reader though, every line “appears” the same, so it can be harder to find a page title in the rest of the page content.

Recommendations

  • Make sure the page has a properly formatted and meaningful title element.
